• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. -Flooring along the floor molding is cracked and broken in some sections exposing the surface underneath. -White wooden table and chair used in the play area and bathroom have chipped paint throughout. -Surface of one sleeping equipment used for children nap is non-porous, making it difficult to sanitize. -Bottom kitchen cabinets are worn along the edges, exposing the surface underneath. -Some sections of the walls and moldings at children's height have a build up marks and stains.

  Corrective action. The Manager said she will contact the Licensee and have the above items addressed.

• OR SUPERVISION

  Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

  Observation. An ECE staff member has been opening the program. However, an ITE needs to work in this shift.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a ratio of 1 ITE to 4 children at all times.

  Observation. Upon inspection of facility, Licensing observed gyprock exposed in the play area.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. During inpection licensing checked 5 children's files and one file was missing emergency contact information.

  Corrective action. Please ensure children's file are complete.
