- STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. Licensing reviewed 3 staff files and one staff was missing a record of their certificate validation.
Corrective action. The Manager advised that she will validate the certificate and print the results to show a record.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed the door step lifting, posing a tripping hazard. The Manager explained she is aware of this and it just started lifting.
Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.

Observation. Upon inspection, the following was observed -The closet door lock does not latch, leaving items such as cleaning products accessible to children -Children were going in and out of the office, to take their lunch bags out of the refrigerator and they were unattended
Corrective action. Please ensure closet door is in good repair and a healthy and safe environment is provided. Staff stated this is not usual practice, a staff will get lunches from fridge on most days
