A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Licensing observed several tears on a diaper change mat. The Licensee explained that she has plans to replace it.
Corrective action. Ensure that the equipment is in good repair while children are in attendance.

Observation. Licensing observed that the Licensee is using a system for potty-training/behavior that includes candy as a reward. The licensee explained that this system was developed mutually with the parents of the children who attend the program. The Licensee has agreed to re-visit the system with the families, removing the use of candy.
Corrective action. Please ensure that food is not used as a form of reward.
