  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. Licensing observed that a clear plastic dome in the outdoor play space is cracked. Most of the cracks have been covered; however, there is a small uncovered section with jagged pieces that could pose a risk of injury.

    Corrective action. The manager confirmed that a replacement dome has been ordered. The manager stated that she will cover the jagged piece today.

    Observation. Twelve registration records were reviewed and immunization status is missing for 2 children in the Group Child Care (school age) Program. Photos are attached to the emergency consent cards, and all consents are complete, however photos or digital image is missing for 5 children. Records indicate photos have been requested but noy yet received.

    Corrective action. Please ensure all records are completed prior to children attending.

    Observation. Three staff files were reviewed and a record of a Criminal Record Check (CRC) was missing for one staff. Both the staff and the Manager stated this staff does not work alone. The staff also stated an application has been submitted to request to have result shared with the current facility and also a RCMP check is also complete, however there were no copies of the checks on site.

    Corrective action. Please ensure all staff records are complete, including a current CRC from the Criminal Record Review Program for staff prior to employment. Please ensure a Health and Safety Plan is in place until a CRC is received from the Criminal Record Review Program. Please note this is a repeat contravention.
