A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed the following hazards: - children's sunscreen stored on a ledge, within children's reach - cleaning products stored in an unlatched storage room - an open gate to a flight of stairs with railing spindles that are 4" apart; gaps/openings must be less than 3.5" apart to ensure no risk of entrapment; stairs also pose a risk if a child were to fall
Corrective action. The Licensee corrected the three concerns during the inspection.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for four of eight children.
Corrective action. The Licensee obtained one child's immunization status during the inspection and will obtain the remaining three.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed the following: - an unsecured cord in the children's nap room and another in the main activity room; both accessible to children which could pose a risk of entanglement - an unsecured flat screen tv above children's height which could pose a risk if it were to fall in the event of an earthquake - the surface of the toilet seat is peeling which does not allow for thorough cleaning and sanitizing; as it is not a smooth surface
Corrective action. The Licensee said that she will secure the cords and the television, and replace the toilet seat.
