  • C1.1 - Does the licensee continually inform licensing of any significant changes to the structure or operation of the facility?Critical

Observation. The Licensing Officer observed the facility's new manager's name was not posted. This was corrected during the inspection.

  • C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

Observation. A review of employee files indicated three files were incomplete and did not contain character references of the person and work history. A person must not be employed in a facility unless the manager knows the person is of good character, has the personality, ability and temperament necessary to work with children, and has the training and experience to carry out the duties of working with children. Confirm by May 2, 2025, with evidence that these employee files are complete.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

Observation. A review of the minor accident, illness and unexpected events log noted three children were involved in incidents where parents should have been notified. The Licensing Officer received confirmation that parents had not been notified. It is a requirement to notify parents of illness or injury sustained by their child, this allows parents to make informed decisions on actions moving forward depending on the incident. Submit by May 2, 2025, a written plan outlining how parents will be notified when their child become ill or is injured while in care. The Licensing Officer reviewed children's files and found three to be incomplete. One file was missing the phone number of a medical practitioner, one was missing the name and phone number of a medical practitioner, and one did not have the date of enrolment. The Child Care Licensing Regulation requires that current records for each child contain identifying personal information. In the event of an emergency this information can be used to identify a child. Confirm by May 2, 2025, that these files are complete with evidence of the missing information added. The Licensing Officer observed two children's records were missing written consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance. In the event of an emergency regarding a child in care, the Licensee is required to have written permission to call a medical practitioner or ambulance from the parent. Confirm by May 2, 2025, that these files are complete with evidence of written permission from the parent added to the file. Three children's files were observed to be missing a photo or digital image. Photos are required to be used to readily identify a child in an emergency. Confirm by May 2, 2025, with evidence that photos have been added to these records.

  • C9.1 - Are there plans and actions in place to ensure medications are stored and administered properly?Non-critical

Observation. Two children requiring prescribed medication did not have completed medication records by the parents indicating permission to administer medication, when to administer the medication and the amount of medication to administer. To ensure children are receiving medication the way in which it is prescribed a Licensee must have completed medication forms. Confirm by May 2, 2025, with evidence that medication records have been completed.
