    Observation. The Licensing Officer reviewed a sampling of the daily attendance records and found a few departure times not recorded. The Licensee is required to submit a plan to ensure the daily attendance is accurately recorded by the follow up date noted.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

    Observation. Products labelled "Keep out of reach of Children" were observed to be accessible to children. Products which could pose a health risk to children are required to be kept out of children's reach. A plan to ensure the safe storage of products deemed unsafe for children is required by the follow up date noted. An outdoor piece of play equipment was not located six feet away from the fence. Equipment not having the six foot clearance around it could pose a safety hazard for children when playing on the equipment. A plan to ensure that play equipment will have six feet of clearance is required by the follow up date noted.

    Observation. The Licensee’s system for ensuring that child's records contain all of the legislated requirements was noted to be ineffective. Child emergency cards were reviewed, and some records were found to be incomplete with the following items missing: - telephone number of a medical practitioner - medical insurance plan number - other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on August 24, 2022. Daily attendance records were reviewed and found several departure times missing.

    Observation. A wooden sandbox was in poor repair with exposed nails and rotting wood accessible to children. The Licensee's system for ensuring the hot water is at the required 49 degrees Celsius or less is ineffective. The hot water was tested and found to be 51 degrees Celsius. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on August 24, 2022.
