  • MEDICATION

    If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (b) readily accessible to employees.

    Observation. Medication was not readily accessible to employees. Manger explained that the parent said the child almost never needed the medication. Records of that conversation was unavailable

    Corrective action. Manager will obtain a confirmation from the parent regarding the child's medication

  • POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

    A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - No proof that the fire extinguisher was being serviced annually. Manager explained that the fire extinguisher was purchased last year before September, but cannot find any record. - Emergency food and drink are available for children but are expired

    Corrective action. Manager said that she will purchase a new fire extinguisher and update all the food and water within this week.

    Observation. Care plan not developed in consultation with the parent or any person requested by the parent for one of the children. This is a repeat contravention to inspection #WBET-D3AM2K.

    Corrective action. Manager will develop a care plan with the parent or any person requested by the parent.
