EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. [CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION] A portable heater was observed in the play area with a potential hazard of children sticking their fingers and hands through the opening.
Corrective action. Manager had removed the protable heater immedately and said that it will no longer be within the play area

STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. Reviewed two staff files and observed the following: - One staff file is missing a record of CRC - One staff file has a record of CRC from the college, but not one that is obtained for the facility (site specific) Manager explained that the two staff were never left alone with the children.
Corrective action. Manager will ensure that the staff file is complete
