    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The fridge temperature was 10.5c. This is repeat noncompliance.

    Corrective action. The manager will remove some contents of the fridge to allow air circulation and keep a daily temperature log to ensure the fridge temperature is between 0-4c.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. The fridge temperature is 14c, the fridge needs cleaning and the freezer compartment is full of excess ice and is in need of defrosting.

    Corrective action. To ensure safe food storage the manager will clean and defrost the fridge and ensure the temperature is between 0-4c.

    A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. The facility fire extinguisher was due to be serviced in May 2024.

    Corrective action. The manager will ensure the fire extinguisher is serviced and a current inspection decal is available.

    A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care,

    Observation. A child with a food allergy has no care plan and medication required is not at the facility. Although the details of the child's allergy are recorded in the child's file the manager was unaware that the child had an allergy as she had not reviewed the file when it was given to her by the family.

    Corrective action. The manager will ensure she reviews all children's files when the child is registered and that a care plan and required medication is at the facility the next time the child attends the facility.
