    Observation. Gaskets on both of the fridge doors (rubber strips) had mold growing on them.

    Observation. During this inspection the following were observed: -Peeling paint on the bathroom door. -Excess dirt on the bathroom wall. -A build up of dust on the extraction fan in the bathroom. -There is an excess of dead leaves in the front yard and some areas of the leaves are starting to rot. Several outdoor toys are covered in leaves. A cardboard box of garbage is accessible to children in the front yard.

    Corrective action. The manager will ensure that all areas of the facility are cleaned, that the peeling paint on the bathroom door is repaired, all leaves are raked from the front yard and the box of garbage removed.

    Observation. The following were accessible to children: -Cosmetics and adult personal care products in the bathroom. -An electrical cord hanging from the ceiling in the nap room.

    Corrective action. The electrical cord was removed during this inspection and the manager will ensure cosmetics and personal care products are not accessible to children.

    Observation. There are insufficient emergency supplies for seven children for up to 72 hours. All canned food items in the emergency kit and several other food items had passed their expiry dates. A current inspection decal was not available for the fire extinguisher.

    Corrective action. The manager will ensure that there are enough supplies (including food and water) for all children for up to 72 hours and that all food in the emergency kit has current expiry dates. The manager stated the fire extinguisher had been inspected and she will find the inspection decal.

    Observation. An area of the vinyl surfacing on the covered area of the deck is coming away exposing the wood surface. The wood surface is showing signs of rotting and gives way when stood on. The manager stated children have been playing on this part of the deck as the larger uncovered deck is under repair.

    Corrective action. To address this issue the manager stated that children will not play on the covered area of the deck until it is repaired and that the front yard will be cleaned up and children will have outdoor play in the front yard.

    Observation. Upon inspection the following were observed: Mr Clean in a unlocked cupboard under the bathroom sink. Lysol spray on the bathroom sink. Two large containers of plant fertilizer on the deck where children were playing. Bottles of alcohol, a can of wasp spray, three cans of butane gas spray and engine oil were accessible to children in the dining area of the home.

    Corrective action. Please ensure children do not have access to hazardous items.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. Areas of drywall are exposed in the nap room, walls throughout the facility are in need of cleaning. These items are repeat noncompliance. During the inspection the Licensing Officer noted rotting fence posts and areas of the outdoor deck floor that gave way when stood upon. Areas of the deck floor are also showing signs of wear and tear and have exposed slivers.

    Corrective action. Please ensure children do not have access to exposed drywall and that the facility walls are cleaned. The deck needs to be in good repair. The manger discussed using the front yard to play in until funding is obtained to repair the deck and she will submit a plan stating how she will make the front yard hazard free to the Licensing Officer.

    Observation. During this inspection two children were on the potty. Neither child or the manager washed their hands after the toileting routine.

    A licensee must ensure that the policies and procedures referred to in subsection (1) are implemented by employees.

    Observation. When Licensing arrived at the facility a child under the age of two years was watching the television. The facility screen time policy states that children under the age of two years will not have any screen time. Three cats were seen in the hallway, children's play area and in the kitchen. The facility pet policy states that pets are not allowed around toddlers, where any child actively plays, in hallways and in food preparation areas. Licensing discussed that if the pet policy is not practical and cannot be implemented it needs to be amended. The policy also states there are two cats in the home and the manager said there are now five cats. Licensing recommended that the policy not include the number of cats in the home as this may change over time.

    Corrective action. Staff must ensure all facility policies and procedures are followed.

    Observation. There are not enough supplies in the emergency kit to last 72 hours for seven children. Water in the kit was being stored in a soda bottle and a large plastic honey container. This is repeat noncompliance and was noted on routine inspection #WBET-C9NQFF and follow up inspection #WBET-CBWRRR. Licensing discussed what should be included in the emergency kit and also that the kit needs to be in a container that is easy to transport in the case of an emergency. The first aid kit does not contain enough supplies to deal with minor first aid incidents.

    Corrective action. An emergency kit with supplies for 72 hours and a fully stocked first aid kit must be maintained. Water in the kit must be in the original container.

    Observation. During meal time, LO noted a child over two years of age in high chair. LO had a discussion about following manufacturer's instruction when using high chairs with younger children to ensure that chairs are being used by children appropriately according to their age and development. LO discussed some strategies to practice physical distancing during meal time, i.e. sitting arrangement
