    A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the fire extinguisher was not serviced annually. Manager explained that she has plan to bring it in for service before the end of this week.

    A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the inspection Licensing noticed several highchairs placed in front of the gate leading to the emergency exit. Although this was corrected during the previous routine inspection, the highchairs were obstructing the exit. Therefore this is a repeat contravention.

    Corrective action. Please ensure nothing is placed in front of the exit to ensure a safe exit in case of emergency.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following during the inspection: -A hose outside the gate to the outdoor play area was uncoiled. This could present a potential hazard. -A slide was placed within 6 feet of an outdoor umbrella stand. A fall distance of at least 6 feet must be observed

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. The following was observed: -Plastic bags located under the sink and in the cubby area, These were at the children's level -Diaper cream was observed in an unlocked drawer next to the sink. - An open gate was observed. Behind the gate a bottle of laundry detergent was on the floor -Children must walk by the front porch to access the outdoor play area. A toy car and several bottles of liquid bubbles were located on the porch. This could present a potential hazard as there are several steps leading up to the front porch making it accessible.
