- RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. For three children today, the time of arrival was not recorded on the attendance sheet. Furthermore, two children who had withdrawn from the program were not marked absent on the attendance sheet. This is a repeated contravention to report #MZIN-D29QE4.
Corrective action. Manager will ensure that all children's attendance sheet reflect the current children's arrival time, as well as indicating whether the child is absent.
19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - STAFFING
A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.
Observation. Licensing reviewed eight staff files and two of the staff files are missing a valid first aid and CPR certificate. Manager, who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, explained that the two staff are subs and they always go out as a group together, where the subs are never left alone with the children.
Corrective action. Manager will talk to the Licensee contact to ensure that all staff files are complete

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Upon inspection, licensing observed the following: - Cubbies are not secured onto the wall and they are unstable. Heavy items were stored on top of the cubby. This poses a potential hazard.
Corrective action. .
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation. Upon inspection, licensing observed children's nap mats were touching each other. This poses a potential cross contamination.
Corrective action. The Manager said she will adjust the position of the mats to ensure there are enough space in between each one so that they are not touching each other.
15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.
Observation. Upon reviewing staff files, two staffs' files were not available in the facility. The Manager said the director has both staffs' files at a different location.
Corrective action. The Manager said she will obtain the two staffs' files from the director and have them stored in the facility. In the meantime, the manager said the staff with no file on site will be supervised at all time.
19320 - CCLR s.59(a) - STAFFING
The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation. A criminal record check for a person over the age of 12 who is ordinarily present is not available.
Corrective action. The Manager said she will obtain a criminal record check for the residence. The Manager said the residence will not have access to the daycare program until she receives the criminal record check.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that in the bathroom, one diaper cream was stored at a low shelf which was within reach of children.
Corrective action. The manager relocated the diaper cream and stored it in a place not within reach of children.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - RECORDS AND REPORTING
In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that one staff who was working at the facility did not have a file on-site.
Corrective action. When the licensee contact arrived, the file was brought to the facility and filed.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that for three children today, the time of arrival was not noted on the attendance sheet. Furthermore, the child that was not at the facility today was not noted to be absent on the attendance sheet..
Corrective action. Ensure that children's time of arrival is noted on the attendance sheet, or if they are absent.
