  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the inspection Licensing observed a scoop that was used for the cat litter. This was located in the cupboard in the washroom at the children's level. This could cause a potential health hazard. This was corrected during the inspection.

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. A hinge on a cupboard door in the bathroom was broken and the door could not be closed.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that the cupboard door can close.

  A licensee providing a care program to any child younger than 36 months of age must provide a separate sleeping area located away from any activity area.

  Observation. A nap room or separate sleeping area away form the activity area is not available to children.

  Corrective action. Please ensure an appropriate location for children to sleep is available.

  Observation. Cosmetics and personal care products were accessible to children in a bathroom draw and cupboard.

  Corrective action. Please ensure children do not have access to these products.

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. Enough food for up to 72 hours for all children in the facility was not available in the emergency kit and food that was in the kit had expired.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that there are enough supplies for all children for up to 72 hours in the emergency kit.

  Observation. A criminal record check was not available for a person who works at the facility. The manager stated she does have this but was unable to locate it during this inspection.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a valid criminal record check is available for all staff.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the fire extinguisher was due to be serviced in 2020.

  Corrective action. Ensure that the fire extinguisher is serviced and ready to use in an event of an emergency.

  Observation. A record of work history was not on file for one out of the two staff.

  Corrective action. Ensure that staff have a current resume on file.

  Observation. Immunization status was not on file for 1 out of the two staff.

  Corrective action. Ensure staff immunization records are on file.
