    Observation. Children's unused water bottles are stored in the washroom. Washrooms are not an appropriate storage location for drinking containers, as they may expose bottles to contamination and increase the risk of the spread of communicable disease. Submit in writing by August 12, 2026, confirmation that children's water bottles are no longer stored in the washroom. Children who are not yet school aged are permitted access to play equipment with a fall height exceeding the allowable limit of 1.5 meters. Allowing children who are not yet school age to access climbing equipment that exceeds the maximum allowable height increases the risk of falls and serious injury. Submit in writing by August 12, 2026, confirmation that children who are not yet school aged are limited to climbing structures no higher than 1.5 meters.

    Observation. The emergency plan practice log was reviewed. There is no evidence that the emergency plan was practiced in 2024. To ensure the safety of all children in an emergency, the emergency plan must be practiced at least annually. Submit by August 25, 2025, written confirmation and evidence that the emergency plan has been practiced and the practice recorded.

    Observation. Child records were reviewed. One record was found to be missing the name and phone number of the child's medical practitioner, and another was missing consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance. Submit by August 25, 2025, confirmation that all children's records now have the required information. Digital images used to identify a child in an emergency were reviewed. Some digital images were no longer current. The Licensee is required to keep a current digital image of each child. Submit by August 25, 2025, written confirmation that the outdated images have been updated.

    Observation. Children's drink bottles are only washed and sanitized once a week. The lid to the hot tub was not latched closed, this poses a risk to children.

    Observation. A child who requires an Epi-Pen for a confirmed allergy, did not have access while at the local park, as the Epi-Pen was left at the facility.

    Observation. While the Licensee was off-site, a child was observed wandering away from the group. A member of the public was seen returning the child to the Licensee, who did not appear to notice the child had wandered away. This concern was addressed during the inspection.

    Observation. The Licensee confirmed she had signed in a child who was not in attendance. This made it appear that nine children in care.

    Observation. The hot water was tested and found to be 53 degrees Celsius. The hot water tank was adjusted during the inspection.
