    Observation. On March 6, 2026, the following contraventions were identified: - illness records were not being maintained. - several children had not been signed out from the previous days care. - two children were missing a photo or digital image. - a child with a medical condition did not have a care plan. On March 24, 2026, in response to the identified contraventions, it was reported that each contravention had been corrected. On April 10, 2026, these contraventions were reviewed and confirmed corrected. On March 6, 2026, information such as medical insurance number, immunization status, and the name and contact details for an emergency contact were missing from some children's records. In response to the identified contravention, it was reported that immunization status and medical insurance numbers were now documented, however, there was no response to the emergency contact details being documented. On April 10, 2026, two children do not have emergency contact information. Submit by April 17, 2026, evidence and confirmation that this has been corrected.

    Observation. A change of manager occurred, and a notification has not been provided. When the Manager changes a notification is required to be submitted. Submit by March 13, 2026, the required notification.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

    Observation. Illnesses are not recorded for one care program. An illness log is required to be maintained. Submit by March 13, 2026, confirmation that illnesses are being recorded. The medical insurance number, immunization status, and name and contact details of emergency contacts is missing for various children. Ensure all required information is collected prior to a child starting. Submit by March 13, 2026, confirmation that the missing information has been added to each child’s record. Permission to contact a medical practitioner or ambulance in an emergency is missing for several children. Written consent must be provided for employees to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in the case of an accident or illness if the parent cannot be immediately reached. Submit by March 13, 2026, confirmation that the missing consent has been added to each child’s record. Several children are not signed out of care on March 05, 2026. Accurate attendance records are required to be maintained, including departure times. Submit by March 13, 2026, confirmation that attendance records are accurate. A photo or digital image is missing for two children. A current photo or digital image that can be used to identify a person in an emergency is required for each child . Submit by March 06, 2026, confirmation that the missing image has been added to each child's record. A child who has a medical condition that requires medication has no care plan. There is no care plan outlining the steps to be taken if the child requires medical intervention. To ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of each child, a detailed care plan should be developed in consultation with the child's parents when a child presents with a medical condition. Submit by March 13, 2026, confirmation that a care plan has been developed for any child with a medical condition.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

    Observation. Children have access to various hazards including, hot water in a recently boiled kettle, and an unlocked daycare storage room, with heavy items stored in open shelves and power cables. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, the environment must be kept safe at all times. Submit by March 13, 2026, confirmation that hazardous items and spaces are no longer accessible to children.

    Observation. The Licensing Officer observed that the manager's name was not displayed in facility at the time of inspection. Ensure the name of the manager is displayed in a prominent place at the facility.

    Observation. - The Licensing Officer observed children walking down the hallway and using washroom without supervision during transition from one room to another room after nap time. This poses a potential health and safety risk to children. Ensure children are supervised at all times. - It was observed that a blanket was positioned completely on top of portable dividers placed around a child, who was napping, in a manner that the child was not visible to the employees. This poses a potential health and safety risk to children. Ensure children are adequately supervised at all times.
