• C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

  Observation. The Licensing Officer observed that an educator's certificate was not verified through the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Registry. Verification of educators and assistant's certificates, via the ECE Registry, is required. This was corrected during inspection.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. Through a review of child records, it was observed that a child's file, who requires extra support, was missing a copy of their care plan. As per Licensing Regulation, care plans must be developed for each child requiring extra support in consultation with their parent and any person requested by the parent. Provide a copy of this child's care plan by 14-April-2025 as per Section 58.

• C6.1 - Are acceptable hygiene practices maintained?Non-critical

  Observation. There was no covered container observed for soiled items. Section 14 of the Child Care Licensing Regulation requires the soiled items to be discarded in a covered container that is located next to the diaper change area and a washbasin. Provide a photo of the covered container by 14-April-2025.

  Observation. Upon reviewing employee records, Licensing observed an expired Criminal Record Check for an employee of the facility. Ensure employee records are kept current.

• C6.1 - Are acceptable hygiene practices maintained?Non-critical

  Observation. Licensing observed a towel hanging in the bathroom for children to dry hands. This towel was used by children throughout the day and not disposed off after each use which may pose a risk of communicable disease spread. Ensure hand drying towels are single use and do not come in contact with each other between uses.

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. There were hazardous items such as hanging electric cords in indoor play space and adult garden tools/debris in outdoor play space found accessible to children. This may pose a risk of injuries to children. Ensure children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health and safety of children in care.

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. The side fence is in poor condition and a starting to lean into the outdoor play space.

  Observation. Minor incidents are not consistently being recorded.

  Observation. Persons 12 years and older who spend time at the facility did not hold criminal record checks.

  Observation. A reportable incident was not reported to Licensing.

  Observation. The side fence is in poor condition. One section is no longer securely attached at the top; this poses a potential risk to children.

  Observation. There were no daily, monthly, or annual inspection logs being completed for the outdoor play space.
