Observation. Licensing observed soap water and bleach solution available for cleaning and sanitizing in the activity area and kitchen area. Bleach solution is available in the children's washroom for sanitizing, however, no soap water bottle is observed. - A reminder to keep the gate closed in between the kitchen/hallway area and main activity area. Manager informs that children do not access this space other than with another adult to go into the smaller rooms with support worker. - A recommendation for the refrigerator thermometer to be placed at the back of the fridge, as the temperature can be less accurate when placed on the door which is frequently being opened.

Manager is planning to purchase individual backpack kits for each child to combine with their personal comfort kits, and is currently working on the purchase. Licensing observed fire extinguisher to be current in its servicing.

Observation. *The side gate to the loft was observed to be unlatched creating potential for a child to fall out onto bare floor with no resilient cover. (This item was corrected by LO during inspection) *The door to the janitor/laundry room was open allowing children access to tools, cleansers and chemicals. *The staff room door was open providing access to tipping hazards such as stacked up chairs and shelves piled high with equipment and supplies. *CCFL observed a build up of equipment, materials and supplies on the tops of many surfaces including shelves, cubbies and the staff area located in the main activity area. While not currently in non-compliance, please keep an eye on this situation so that it does not become a tipping hazard. *A tall unsecured 5 drawer dresser was observed in the main room next to the front office door. This creates a potential tipping hazard should a child open all drawers at once or attempt to climb this item.

The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction. They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]
Observation. *CCFL observed a loose and accessible cord to the hepa filter in the main playroom. *The string lights in the loft are hanging down creating a loop which poses the possibility of entanglement. *The kitchen gate was observed to be open allowing children access to cleaning products and other potentially hazardous items that may be contained in Educators' personal belongings in the staff room.
