    Observation. On June 24, 2025, licensing observed the following: 1) The metal railing post at the bottom of the stairs is loose and only held in place with one screw. 2) The wood fence along the property is aging and easily sways back and forth when pushing against the panel. The fence is at risk of eventually falling over. On July 7, 2025 the Licensee e-mail that they have reached out to the property manager regarding both issues and will provide updates once it’s fixed.

    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. Licensing observed a rip in the programs diaper change mat. This makes this item difficult to sanitize adequately.

    Children are provided with a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that is designed for the development and care of the children, and is appropriate for the age and development of the children. [CCLR Sec. 44(1)(a)(b)(c) and Schedule(G)]

    Observation. Licensing observed both programs engaging in play outdoors at various times. Materials available to children consisted of balls, an Educator blowing bubbles for the children to catch, and a few ride on toy cars. Licensing inquired with staff if there were more outdoor materials available as what was available to the children was very limited. The staff member explained that they would look into getting more materials.

    Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]

    Observation. One child in care as food allergies noted on Allergy Action Plan that the parent indicates may need Benadryl if exposed. There was no Benadryl onsite for the child. The Manager was confused about whether the parent could authorize the use of medication or if it could only be authorized by a doctor. This child is leaving the facility on June 30/21.
