  • HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the tables where the children ate snack had not been cleaned after and before the children started to do activities on the table. The Manager said that usually they always do wipe the tables down

    Corrective action. The Manager will ensure that tables are sanitized after snack time.

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

    Observation. Upon a review of the attendance records for the month of November 2025, Licensing observed three days that children were not identified as absent during the morning program. Licensing discussed with the Manager the intent of the legislation and how to complete the attendance records correctly.

    Corrective action. The Manager will ensure that attendance records are accurate on a daily basis.

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING

    The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

    Observation. Licensing observed that a child's care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent. The care plan was last reviewed on September 2024. Licensing discussed with the Manager what would meet the intent of this legislation.

    Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING

    In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (c) produce records, on demand, to the medical health officer.

    Observation. Licensing was unable to review the Manager's record as it was not available on site. The Manager said that they have asked the supervisor to place their record at the community care facility but has not yet received it. Therefore, Licensing was unable to review the following documents; - CRC - resume - references - immunization status - first aid This is a repeat contravention.

    Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

    A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.

    Observation. Licensing observed that fire drills were not practiced for the months of June 2024, September and October 2025.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. Licensing observed several cleaning solution bottles on the bottom shelf of an unlocked cupboard and accessible to children in care.

    Corrective action. A written response to be provided to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

    In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (c) produce records, on demand, to the medical health officer.

    Observation. Licensing was unable to review two staff files as the files were not able to be located. The Manager said that staff records are in place however, that they did not know where they were and attempted for 15 minutes to locate them without any success. Therefore, Licensing was unable to review the following staff documents; - criminal record checks -resume - references - immunization status - first aid

    Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
