A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Licensing observed the following; - a tall doll house and train table where the paper has ripped - a kitchen counter top were the vinyl has ripped at the corners - paint chipped on the wall in several places
Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. A tractor parked in the outdoor play area.
Corrective action. The Licensee said that the tractor will be moved.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Upon a review of the attendance records for the month of June 2025, Licensing observed the following; - one day all the children's time of departure was not recorded. - children who do not attend for the day are not identified as absent. Licensing provided education on how to complete the attendance records correctly.
Corrective action. The Licensee will ensure that the attendance records are accurate on a daily basis.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed the following; - A very tall wooden ladder resting against a wall in the outdoor play area. The Manager will ask a family member to remove it before the children come outside. - The sandbox has no covering.
Corrective action. The Manager will ask a family member to remove it before the children come outside and ensure that the sandbox cover is placed on the sandbox at the end of each day.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation. Licensing observed several balls in the outdoor play area that are ripped and deflated.
Corrective action. The Manager will remove the balls.
11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. Licensing observed the following; -a toilet bowl cleaning solution in an unlocked bathroom cupboard. - toilet bowl cleaning brush beside the toilet.
Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how the contravention will be addressed.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. Upon a random review of three children's records, Licensing observed that emergency contact information was not obtained for one child.
Corrective action. The Manager will collect the information from the parent and record it in the child's file.
19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. Upon a random review of three staff records, Licensing observed that one staff's criminal record check is not site specific.
Corrective action. The Manager has completed a sharing form and once received will place it in the staff's file.

Observation. Licensing confirmed that a child's medication was stored within the fridge by error of staff. Medication was no longer useable once it was placed in the fridge and had to be replaced. Additionally, the facility was using booster seats to transport children under 36 months. This does not meet the safety requirements set out within the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Corrective action. Corrective action required.

Observation. There was no record for the month of June indicating that medication was administered to a child, including time and amount as agreed upon in the care plan.

Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation. LO noted that an ECEA staff has been opening the facility and leaves around 9AM when the ECE staff arrives. ECE staff confirmed that this is the regular schedule. LO also noted the staff's initials on the child sign in form going back multiple months, indicating that the staff accepts the children in the morning. .
Corrective action. Please ensure that staff to child ratio is as stated under Schedule E of the Child Care Licensing Regulation.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. The following were noted at today's inspection: -Exposed black netting within the walkway to the outdoor play space can act as a tripping hazard. -Some floor boards appear to have some water damage by the kitchen and are starting the lift, making them not easy to clean. -few areas within the nap room where the paint is peeling.
Corrective action. Please ensure facility is clean and in good repair.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. There were two fans on within the facility that were on during the inspection. A discussion was had with the staff about the fans being accessible to the children in care and the possibility of them putting their fingers in the holes of the fan.
Corrective action. Please ensure that fans are not accessible to the children in care.

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation. The staff who was working at the facility did not have their certificate posted, as required.
Corrective action. Please ensure all staff certificates are posted for the public to see.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation. 3 staff files reviewed, one staff was missing immunization information.
