A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Several of the carpets are fraying at the corners and ends.

A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. Licensing measured the water temperature at 52.3 degrees Celsius.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. There is a storage room with a lock on it however, the door opens enough for a child to put their hand/arm through the opening. Potential for a child to injure themselves.

Observation. Licensing observed the following; - there is an unlocked closet/room with adult metal and cloth chairs stacked up high. Potential for a child to access the room, the chairs to fall on them and injure them. - The fridge temperature at 9 degrees Celsius.

Observation. There is a large picnic table within the outdoor play space that has started to crack at multiple edges of the seat and table. This can act as a pinching hazard.
Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before December 13, 2023

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. While on site, the following was noted: -Multiple wood equipment/structures that were slippery due to algae (platform and wood perimeters, wood stumps) -Wood ladder which is used for balance, is also slippery and in disrepair in some areas with nails slightly exposed. -Cubbies which are on wheels can act as a tipping hazard. discussed with staff some solutions as the equipment has to be moved when daycare is not in use.
Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contraventions noted above on or before December 13, 2023
