    Observation. Licensing observed a tall divider that is placed in front of the door during nap time. The divider is not secure and could potentially fall on a child if they touched it or bumped into it.

    Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed

    Observation. Licensing observed that there are DIN # products in the first aid kit that is used on children. The children's wounds are first cleaned with water and then with the DIN # products in the first aid kit. Licensing provided education that DIN # products have medicinal ingredients in them therefore must be treated like any medicine administered to children and required forms need to be completed by the parents.

    Corrective action. The Manager will remove the DIN # products from the first aid kit.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Facility had added a pool noodle to the corner of the concrete ledge, however, the children have started to jump on the foam and parts of the foam have already fallen off. Staff indicated that children like to walk balance on the ledge of the concrete and now that the foam has been installed, the children like to jump on the foam. Discussed some alternative solutions with staff. LO recommended that the concrete ledge not be accessible at all since it appears to pose as a hazard even with the ledge being covered with foal.

    Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. The following were noted at today's inspection: -Car seat was stored on top of a filing cabinet, topple hazard (removed at the time of inspection). -Foam play set which was not in use was piled up along the wall and can act as a topple hazard. -Thorny bush growing within outdoor play space. -Turfed area sectioned off for the IT program has a concrete ledge which requires the corner to be covered with a soft surface. -Toilet paper not within the roll holder, unsanitary practice. -Light cover missing from bathroom light

    Corrective action. Please ensure facility is healthy and safe environment

    Observation. Medication was accessible to children in care as it was kept in the fridge and the fridge did not have a child lock to keep children from accessing the fridge.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that medication is kept out of reach of the children in care.

    Observation. When Licensing reviewed today's attendance, 4 children were in care, however, 2 children were signed into the facility and while LO was on site, a child left, attendance was not updated to reflect that the child left.

    Corrective action. Please ensure attendance is kept and is accurate.

    Observation. Staff could not locate photos for the children for the facility. It is unclear if the children have photo or digital image available at the facility.

    Observation. 3 staff files reviewed, one staff was missing proof of verification of Certificate through the ECE Registry.

    Corrective action. Please ensure staff Certificates are verified and notation is available to confirm compliance.

    A licensee must ensure that each employee (a) is trained in the implementation of the fire drill system and emergency plan described in subsection (1), including the use of any equipment noted in the fire drill system and emergency plan.

    Observation. When Licensing inquired about the Emergency drill protocol, staff were not familiar with the facility's policy and where they were to go. Staff were not sure where the emergency bag was located, however, it was found to be located within the closet at the facility.

    Corrective action. Please ensure staff are trained in fire and emergency procedures.
