    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed a part of the wooden fence is damaged where a sharp piece can easily be pulled out.

    Corrective action. The Manager said she will check fence maintenance.

    A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. The facility fire extinguisher tag was expired which could pose a risk in responding to an emergency.

    Corrective action. Ensure a program can prepare, mitigate, respond and recover from an emergency including servicing fire extinguishers yearly.

    Observation. Attendance records were reviewed. On a few occasions children were not recorded for arrival times. The LO reviewed this item in depth with he manager during the inspection.

    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. Children's food items are stored in the facility fridge however a thermometer is not available within the fridge to ensure suitable storage. LO reviewed this item with the Licensee during the inspection.

    Corrective action. Ensure a thermometer is in a fridge that houses children's perishable food as an effective health practice.

    Observation. The name of the facility manager was not posted within the facility. LO reviewed this requirement during the inspection.

    Observation. Four children's files were reviewed and one child was missing a Dr's name and phone number and one child was missing an alternate or emergency contact. LO reviewed these items with the Licensee during the inspection.

    Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete including medical practitioner name and phone number and alternate or emergency contacts.

    Observation. Two staff files were reviewed and a copy of one staff's current certificate was not available.

    Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete including current certificates.

    Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete.

    Observation. One qualified staff working in the program did not have evidence of the ECE certificate being validated from the ECE Registry.

    Corrective action. Ensure all qualified staff have evidence of validation from the ECE Registry.
