    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. Individual hand towels were stored with each towel touch resulting in possible cross-contamination. The LO reviewed this item in depth during the inspection.

    Corrective action. Ensure effective hand washing practices are maintained.

    A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. Emergency supplies reviewed expired items and not effective resources to use in the event of an emergency.

    Corrective action. Ensure the program can respond to an emergency and has enough and suitable supplies.

    A licensee must display a copy of the fire drill system in a prominent place in the community care facility.

    Observation. Fire drill not practiced for one month. LO reviewed this item with the Manager at the time of the inspection.

    Corrective action. Ensure fire drills are conducted and recorded on a monthly basis.

    A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).

    Observation. Three children's files were reviewed and all were missing updated information at the time of the inspection. One child had a digital file but not a paper registration form was located.

    Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are on site and complete including, Care Card Numbers, Dr's, Alternate Pick-Up contact details.

    Observation. The program provides snack to the children in care. The food is stored in the fridge. No thermometer is available to ensure the effective storage of food in the fridge. The LO reviewed this requirement in depth with the Licensee at the time of the inspection.

    Corrective action. Ensure a healthy environment is provided at all times which includes having a thermometer in the fridge.
