A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

Observation. Two educator or educator assistants working today did not have their certificate posted

Corrective action. Ensure that all educator and assistant certificates are posted.

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.

Observation. The Name of the Manager was not posted

Corrective action. Ensure the name of the Manager is posted.

The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation. The care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.

Corrective action. Ensure that the care plan is reviewed at least once per year

In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.

Observation. Records for three staff were unavailable for review

Corrective action. Ensure that records for all staff are available for review.

A licensee must ensure that each employee (c) practices implementing the emergency plan at least once each year.

Observation. The employee stated that they have not practiced the emergency plan

Corrective action. Ensure that the emergency plan is practiced at least once per year

A licensee must ensure that each employee (a) is trained in the implementation of the fire drill system and emergency plan described in subsection (1), including the use of any equipment noted in the fire drill system and emergency plan.

Observation. One staff person was unaware of the secondary evacuation location

Corrective action. Ensure that each staff is trained in the emergency plan

A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (b) is knowledgeable respecting each child's medical condition, if any.

Observation. A staff member was aware of a child's emergency medication but was unaware of all of the medical conditions the child has

Corrective action. Ensure that staff is aware of a child's medical condition.

If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (a) administered to the child in the amount and at the times specified by the child's parent or in the child's record or care plan.

Observation. One child with a medication did not have any information on the amount or times for the medication to be administered.

Corrective action. The Manager said that she has been in contact and requested written information from the parent.

A licensee must ensure that a child's medication is not accessible to any child, except that a child may have access to his or her own medication if (a) the child's parent has instructed the licensee to permit this.

Observation. Medication was accessible to children in care in both 3-5 program and School Age program.

Corrective action. The Manager said that she will discuss with the staff how to ensure it is not accessible.
