A licensee must (b) promote healthy eating and nutritional habits.

Observation. Fridge used to store children's food did not have a thermometer available at the time of the inspection.

Corrective action. Ensure food is stored effectively. The Licensee reported that this would be corrected in the days to come.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Seven children's files were reviewed and three children did not have evidence of Medical Insurance Plan number or immunization status available.

Corrective action. Ensure children's registration is complete including CC # and Immunization status.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. Seven children's files were reviewed and one child did not have evidence of enrollment date available.

Corrective action. Ensure all registration forms are complete including enrollment dates.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. Seven children's files were reviewed and two children did not have evidence of emergency contacts available.

Corrective action. Ensure all registration forms are complete including emergency contacts.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.

Observation. A minimum of two character references were not available for two employees.

Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete including reference checks.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for two employees.

Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete including immunization status.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (c) a record of the person's work history.

Observation. A record of the person's work history was not available for two employees.

Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete including resumes.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

Observation. Two staff files did not have evidence of validation of ECE certificates.

Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete including Validation of ECE Certificate.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

Observation. Two staff working in the program did not have Criminal Record Check that is site specific.

Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete including CRC's that are valid and site specific.

A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care,

Observation. Staff failed to provide a safe environment for a child in care.

Corrective action. The Licensee said that staff will not record children when guidance is needed.

Observation. A staff yelled at a child in care.

Corrective action. The Licensee said that she will review the guidance policy with Staff 1.
