  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing observed the toilet roll dispenser was broken in the bathroom and the toilet paper was out of the reach for children.

  Care plans are not reviewed at least once a year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent. [CCLR Sec. 58(2)(b)]

  Observation. LO observed two care plans posted in the classroom that appear to be have been last reviewed in July 2023 and September 2023.

  Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]

  Observation. LO observed medication for 2 children with asthma did not have a Request for Administration of Medication form completed.

  Observation. LO observed that while the issue with the mats has been resolved; however, the issue with the chipped paint on the walls and window sills remains outstanding

  Observation. In the classroom space, LO observed chipped paint on the white wainscoting covering the facility walls and the window sills. In addition, 19 vinyl mats that are used for nap time were observed ripped along the seams and corners, exposing the inner material.

  For each child requiring extra support, the licensee keeps a current care plan showing the required information. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)(2)]

  Observation. LO observed an incomplete asthma care plan and request for administration of medication form for 1 child. In addition, LO observed that the asthma medication provided by the parent to the facility was not labelled with the child's name, dosage, time and expiry date. Discussion took place with staff with regards to having the required information in place prior to administering medication to a child.

  The licensee has written, parental consent to release a child to someone other than the parent. [CCLR Sec. 57(3)(b)]

  Observation. LO reviewed a sampling of the children's records and observed 2 files where that the parent(s) have listed themselves as the emergency contact.
