    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. August 5, 2026 - There are areas that appear to have been addressed, but the list below from previous inspection still require additional cleaning or repair/replacement. June 17, 2026 - The following items were observed during this inspection: - window bench in the main room, the vinyl material was peeling which left areas unable to be sanitized - bathroom requires a cleaning, you can see handprints in the dust on the toilet bowl tank, the cupboard (in both bathrooms) does not latch and there are cleaning supplies store accessible to children - areas in the rooms appear to require a deep clean, there are numerous shelving units in the spaces that have been added for additional storage, these make it hard to clean due to the amount of equipment /items throughout the space.

    Observation. Recurring August 5, 2026 - One staff file is missing CRC completed through CRRB in Victoria. While they do have a local RCMP CRC, it must be done through CRRB. June 17, 2026 - Files were reviewed and two are missing CRC's completed through CRRB in Victoria. 1 staff is also missing references, immunization status and one is missing validation of the ECE certificate. Manager was able to share one of the above noted staff persons CRC's, but also confirmed that the second staff does not have a CRC and will apply in the coming days. It is important that prior to working with children, all staff must have required documentation in place, this includes CRC's. Feb. 26, 2026 - Files were reviewed and some have CRC's from local RCMP. All CRC's must be done through your facilities account within Criminal Record Review Branch in Victoria. May 29, 2025 - Files were reviewed and have various items missing - validation, references, CRC, immunization status.

    The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

    Observation. While the outdoor play area is enclosed, there are areas where the fencing (orange snow fencing) is falling down and there are spots that children could egress. There are also areas where there are weeds and blackberry bushes (thorny) that children could get injured due to.

    Observation. Children's files were reviewed and some children were missing information from their emergency card that was observed in their files. But one child did not have an emergency card or file available and was missing the following - second parent's contact information, emergency contact (in addition to parent), medical insurance information and immunization. Manager followed up with LO and shared the noted child's immunization status and medical insurance information. Still outstanding is emergency contact / second parents contact. It was also observed that attendance was not kept upon arrival of LO. At 9:45 a staff was observed to be writing in all children's attendance to that point. At 11:15 LO observed the attendance to show 26 children, but 27 children were in care.
