  Observation. Although the classroom was equipped with toys, play materials, and equipment, Licensing Officer observed that the shelves appeared sparse and did not seem to provide sufficient materials to meet the developmental needs and interests of the children in care.

  Observation. Licensing Officer observed two criminal record checks on file that are addressed to another facility.

  Care plans are not reviewed at least once a year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent. [CCLR Sec. 58(2)(b)]

  Observation. LO observed that a child's allergy care plan was overdue for annual review.

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. LOs observed the following: Several toys (busy bead activity sets and play kitchens) and shelf units in both classrooms have worn and chipped surfaces. These items are no longer easy to clean and in good repair. LOs observed drywall chipping away on walls in several areas. LOs observed that the toddler classroom door does not latch properly when closed, posing a potential supervision concern.

  Heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. [CCLR Sec. 47]

  Observation. LOs observed that hot water in the Infant classroom measured 51° C.
