  Observation. Licensing Officer observed a Behaviour Interventionist onsite who was supporting a child did not have a valid Criminal Record Check on file at the facility.

  Observation. Licensing observed 19 children present in the program. The licensed capacity is 18. Staff stated there have been times when capacity exceeded 18 children. Discussion took place with staff regarding maintaining capacity at all times.

  Observation. Licensing observed cleaning supplies including bleach in an unlocked cabinet accessible to children.

  Observation. Licensing observed the facility did not appear to have adequate emergency supplies for children and staff in an event of an emergency.

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. LO observed that the facility wall adjacent to the gymnasium entrance is in poor repair. The wall covering is peeling in one section, there is a visible hole and the wall appears to be soiled and stained. The wall requires some attention.

  Observation. LO observed that the facility did not have in place emergency supplies such as food and water rations in the event of an emergency. Discussion took place with staff with regards to having emergency supplies in place for staff and children in the event of an emergency.

  Observation. LO reviewed children's records and the following was observed: -date of enrolment is not kept for 1 child -date of birth is not kept for 1 child -immunization status is not kept for 1 child -a medical insurance plan number is not kept for 1 child

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry [CCLR Sec. 19(4)(a)]

  Observation. LO observed that there is no evidence that an ECEA certificate has been verified through the ECE Registry for one staff.

  Observation. LO reviewed staff records and observed that a record of staff's work history has not been obtained for one staff and a criminal record check on file for one staff is addressed to another facility.

  The emergency plan is not practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(c)] ; Fire drills are not practiced at least once each month. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)]

  Observation. LO observed that fire drills were not practiced for the month of September and October. Discussion took place with staff with regards to practicing a fire drill at least once each month and an emergency drill once each year.
