  Observation. LO observed no evidence of a criminal record check has been obtained for the licensee's spouse.

  Observation. LO observed an incomplete record for the licensee.

  There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

  Observation. LO observed that the fire extinguisher is in need of servicing as it has expired.

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / Hazardous Objects and SubstancesNon-critical

  Hazardous objects and substances are inaccessible to children. [CCLR Sec 17]

  Observation. There are gates between the kitchen and areas in use by children, as the gate was open children have access to the kitchen. While most of the cupboards are latched or do not contain hazardous objects / substances, there is one drawer with bags accessible which could be a suffocation risk. There is also clutter on one of the counters and the stove. The licensee explained that she is decluttering and reorganizing the entire home and is aware of the piles that have been moving around. She hopes to have this completed within a few weeks. And with regards to the cupboard drawer, she has ordered a replacement part to fix this.

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / EnvironmentNon-critical

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. At the far end of the outdoor space (by the flower bed / shed) there is a temporary fence that is in need of repair as it is partially down.

  A record for each child containing the daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(c)]

  All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec 20]

  Observation. The licensee stated that she has not completed a CRC since originally being licensed. LO shared the link to ensure any person living in the home or ordinarily present and over the age of 12 has a clear CRC on site.
