Observation. In the outdoor play space, the Licensing Officer observed a plastic child‑sized kitchen play set. The surface of the play set was dirty, and mildew and moss were present, indicating that it is in need of cleaning and appropriate maintenance.

Observation. In the outdoor play space, Licensing Officer observed a garden hose connected to a sprinkler posing a potential tripping hazard. The placement poses the risk of injury as a child may trip and hit their head on the stone garden bed perimeter.

Observation. In the children's washroom, Licensing Officer observed that the heated water temperature exceeds 49 degrees Celsius.

Observation. Licensing Officer observed that the seating material on an outdoor hammock swing chair is ripped, frayed and in poor repair. Licensee advised that the seating material came apart the day before and is looking into repair options.

Observation. Licensing Officer observed that an immunization status has not been obtained for 2 children

All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec 20]
Observation. This issue of non-compliance remains outstanding. During today's inspection, licensee was unable to locate an updated criminal record check for his son. During today's inspection, the licensee advised the Licensing Officer that his daughter is over the age of 12. Licensing Officer advised that the licensee is apply for a Criminal Record Check through the Criminal Records Review Program.

Staff are trained in the implementation of the fire drill system and the emergency plan, including the use of any equipment noted in the fire drill system and emergency plan. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(a)]
Observation. During the inspection, the licensee was unable to locate the fire drill system.

Observation. Fire extinguisher has expired - It was explained that the fire dept. asks for a 5 lb extinguisher. Fire extinguisher is to be secured to a wall or placed in an area for easy access, and safe. Licensing discussed with the Licensee the emergency plan. Licensing to provide resources to update the plan.
