  All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

  Observation. LO observed limited outdoor play materials available to children. Staff stated toys are put away in an enclosed storage shed and are taken out when children ask for what they want to play with. Discussion took place to have play materials accessible to children.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry [CCLR Sec. 19(4)(a)]

  Observation. Out of 4 staff records reviewed, 3 staff did not have documentation to support their certificate was verified using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry.

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. Some areas observed during inspection that appear to need addressing include: - walls are showing signs of wear and tear (especially in bathroom behind toilets) - table in reading area (far end of room) - garbage was overflowing

  Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]

  Observation. LO observed 3 children who have care plans in place did not have a request for administration of medication form on file.

  For each child requiring extra support, the licensee keeps a current care plan showing the required information. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)(2)]

  Observation. LO observed that care plans for 2 children were incomplete.
