    Observation. A parent who was observed interacting with children in the facility was confirmed by the licensee to be present daily and does not have a criminal record check. A person must not be ordinarily present in a facility unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check which demonstrates the person has no criminal convictions and can safely be around children. Submit by October 16, 2025, a completed criminal record check.

    Observation. Documentation in the facility accident, illness and unexpected events logbook outlined a child who sought medical attention after being sent home from the facility with a high fever on September 18, 2025. It is the responsibility of the licensee to understand the definitions of reportable incidents as per Schedule H of the Child Care Licensing Regulation and to notify licensing within 24 hours. Submit by October 10, 2025, the completed incident report.

    Observation. One child's file was found to be incomplete missing the following: - physician's phone number - medical insurance plan number - date of enrolment - a photograph or digital image of the child Outline the system developed to ensure children's files are complete.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

    Observation. Individual children's bedding was observed to be in contact with other children's bedding when brought out for rest time. In order to ensure the health, safety and hygiene of children, bedding must be handled in a manner that will avoid cross contamination. Outline how the system developed will be monitored daily to ensure bedding does not come in contact with other bedding.

    Observation. A log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events was not available for Licensing to review. Two children's records were missing the telephone number for a medical practitioner. Children's records were missing a photograph that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.

    Observation. An indoor piece of equipment used for climbing did not have the recommended six feet clearance around it from walls and other furniture.
