• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must have first aid kits that are readily accessible to all employees, including while care is provided off the community care facility premises. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): No instant ice pack in first aid kid belonging to the 30 months to school age program. During the inspection, instant ice packs were ordered and Licensing was shown confirmation of purchase.

  Corrective action. Please ensure first aid kits are complete with necessary supplies.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (h) any special instruction respecting the child's diet, medication, participation in a program of activities, or other matter relevant to the child's care, (i) given by the child's parent to the licensee in writing.

  Observation. 1 child with documented allergies, but no written instructions for facility to follow if the allergens are ingested. The room supervisor will be following up with the parents this afternoon.

  Corrective action. Please obtain written instructions from parents regarding symptoms to look for and actions to follow when the allergens are ingested. This is also applicable to all other children with documented allergies.
