  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (d) written policies and procedures that are intended to guide employees in the care and supervision of children.

  Observation. No policies and procedures on-site. The staff was also not able to present this document to Licensing on-site.

  Corrective action. Ensure policies and procedures are available on-site and that staff are aware of where it can be found.

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. Licensing observed approximately less than 10 children's emergency supplies scattered on the shelf at the office at the facility.

  Corrective action. Ensure that there are enough emergency supplies available for all the children in care, and should all be placed in a container/bag, and should be taken out every time emergency drills are completed.

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

  Observation. No record of the fire and emergency drills. The staff said that they typically record it on the attendance sheet, though when Licensing checked past attendance records, the drills were not recorded. This item is a repeat contravention on routine inspection report #MZIN-DDTP32 on 12/Feb/2025.

  Corrective action. Monthly fire drills and yearly emergency drills are to be completed and recorded.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.

  Observation. Two children did not have a photo available on file.

  Corrective action. Ensure files are complete.

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (b) for each employee, the records required under section 19 (1) [character and skill requirements].

  Observation. It was observed that one staff who is on the sub list (as explained by the facility manager): - has a CRC on file from a university - has only one reference on file - Missing a validation record

  Corrective action. Ensure that files are complete and up to date.

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

  Observation. Licensing observed that there were no records of the yearly emergency drill. Both staff on-site said that these drills have not been completed.

  Corrective action. Ensure to do the yearly emergency drill and record it when it has been completed with children.
