Observation. All children's records are missing other information, such as physical characteristics, which can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency. Submit by March 31, 2026, evidence that the information has been added to the records. Care plans were reviewed for children requiring extra support. Evidence the plans were developed in consultation with the parents is missing. Care plans are to be in place for any child who requires extra support and are to be developed in consultation with the parent and any person requested by the parent. Submit by March 31, 2026, evidence that the care plans have been developed in consultation with the parents.

Observation. Changes to a deck in front of the multi-age classroom, and to the heating/ventilation system of the building have been made since the last inspection. Approval by licensing is required prior to any structural changes being made, in order to ensure that there are adequate precautions in place for construction and renovations, and to ensure that the finished product will meet the requirements of the legislation. A plan for seeking approval by licensing prior to future construction projects is required.

Observation. A wooden patio deck in the 30m-School-age yard, and a wooden mud kitchen in the Under 36 months yard have rotted, becoming unstable and exposing some nails and screws. These items must be removed, repaired or replaced in order to make the outdoor play areas safe and hazard free. A broken, plastic wheelbarrow in the Under 36 months yard was discarded during the inspection. A plan for ensuring that the outdoor play space inspection includes inspection of the toys in order to ensure that unsafe toys are removed from service is required.

Observation. Some paving stones in the outdoor play space for the 30 months to school-age program have lifted due to tree roots pushing from beneath, creating a tripping hazard. The styrofoam layer that is covering the floor of the loft in the multi-age program classroom is torn and in disrepair.

Observation. A random sampling of employee files were inspected. One ECEA certificate had not been verified. Manager verified it during the inspection. Certificates must be verified upon hiring and upon renewal.

Observation. A nail head was protruding from a wooden outdoor kitchen. The Manager removed the nail before the inspection was complete. A system for inspecting and repairing the outdoor play space is in place.

Observation. Information on the COVID-19 Self Inspection Checklist indicates that the facility has donations of fresh produce from a local grocery store for children's consumption. A record needs to be kept of what foods are served to children.
