• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. A review of attendance records found some times of departure missing from the day before the inspection, and some times of arrival missing from the day of the inspection. A system of recording times of arrival and departure is in place, but staff admit to finding it difficult to keep up on during these early days of September when new children are getting accustomed to the program. A method of recording arrival and departure times as they happen is required in order to account for all children in the case of an emergency.

• C1.1 - Does the licensee continually inform licensing of any significant changes to the structure or operation of the facility?Critical

  Observation. Observations: Licence, manager name EC/ITE and Assistant Certificates posted Contravention: A play structure was added to the outdoor play space without the required notification and consultation with Licensing. An updated site plan with the location of the play structure and information regarding the structure is required for the file. If the structure is to be removed, an image that shows that the structure has been removed is required.

• C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

  Observation. Observations: Written policies and procedures in place and available for staff to review. Fire Drills and Emergency response plan practiced and recorded appropriately. Contravention: There are fall zones and areas of the play structure that require a supervision plan due to the lack of resilient surfacing and sufficient safe entry/exit zones - If the structure will be removed, evidence that it has been remove is required. If is is not removed, a supervision plan for the structure is required

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. A play structure in the outdoor play yard did not have adequate resilient surfacing beneath it. The climbing wall and swings attached to the play structure were observed to be closer than the required distance from a raised wooden garden border. Swings were removed by the licensee at the time of inspection and the licensee notified the staff that it was not to be used. There were openings in the lower area of the structure that were more than 3.5 inches and less than 9 inches that could cause an entrapment zone
