Health & safety record

2 critical and 2 non-critical findings recorded since 2025.

September 12, 2025Routine Inspection2 critical, 2 non-critical
  • C3.2 - Are persons qualified and appropriately replaced?Critical

Observation. An assistant certificate was not verified by the director of the early childhood educator registry. A licensee is required to verify certificates to ensure the certificate is valid, and that there are no restrictions associated with the educator. Submit by September 19, 2025, evidence the certificate has been verified.

  • C10.2 - Are children supervised, and are employee to children ratios maintained?Critical

Observation. The licensee disclosed that children are not supervised during nap time. There is a sound monitor used in one of the two separate nap rooms, no monitor is used in the other nap room. The licensee also said that children are not checked on during nap time. To ensure the health and safety of children in care continuous supervision is required at all times. Submit by September 16, 2025, how continuous supervision at nap time has been addressed.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

Observation. The daily attendance did not accurately reflect the number of children in care. Three children were in attendance with only two children being signed in. Accurate daily attendance ensures that employees are aware of the number of children in care in the event of an emergency. This was corrected during the inspection. All children's records are missing other information, such as physical characteristics, which can be used to readily identify a child in an emergency. Submit by September 19, 2025, evidence that the required information has been added to the records.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

Observation. A slide leaning against a rock for a base was not affixed to the rock and allowed for easy movement and sliding off the rock. The slide also was positioned under a branch of a low tree. Where the slide is positioned and because the slide is not affixed to anything puts children at risk for injury. The slide was put on the ground at the time of the inspection, however, a written submission is required by September 19, 2025, on how the risk associated with the slide has been resolved. The hot water was tested and found to be 52 degrees Celsius. Water over 49 degrees Celsius pose a scald/burn risk to children. Submit by September 19, 2025, evidence the hot water accessible to children does not exceed 49 degrees Celsius. A climbing structure in the outdoor play area does not have the required 6 foot clearance around it. A six foot clearance is required to avoid the risk of injury of children playing on or around the equipment. Submit by September 19, 2025, evidence that the clearance around the climbing structure has been addressed.
