  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Hot tub was full of water and left unlocked. The Manager locked the hot tub and said the hot tub is not in use and no longer works.

  Corrective action. Ensure the hot tub is secured at all times.

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. Last week, some panels of the fence in the back yard had fallen down. Currently the panel is being held up by a rope.

  Corrective action. Licensee has been working on getting the fence fixed. Please provide a timeline for when you think the fence will be fixed.

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

  Observation. Limited information available in regard to monthly fire drills and emergency drill as they were written in multple books. Licensee stated that they had them written down but could not locate them at the time of inspection.

  Corrective action. LO to send Licensee a fire drill log. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before April 2, 2025

  The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.

  Observation. A criminal record check for multiple people over the age of 12 who is ordinarily present is not available.

  Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before April 2, 2025

• A licensee must keep (a) a copy of the written statement, referred to in section 19 of the Act, that the licensee delivers to persons who prepay part of the cost of services

  Observation. A repayment agreement was not available for review.

  Corrective action. Ensure records as per Section 19 of the Act is met.

• HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

  A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as either Preschool (30 Months to School Age) or Group Child Care (School Age), must have in a community care facility a sturdy surface for changing diapers, located outside the food preparation area, next to (a) a covered container for soiled clothing.

  Observation. A garbage can with a lid was not available within the washroom.

  Corrective action. Ensure that a covered container for soiled clothing, i.e. pull ups and diapers is available within the diapering area ( washroom).

  Observation. LO observed and discussed with the Manager re: fire drill and emergency plan There were no records indicating that the emergency plan was practiced once a year.

  Corrective action. Ensure that both monthly fire drills and yearly emergency drill is practiced and recorded.

  Observation. During the inspection it was noted that the emergency kit contained some expired granola bars.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that you have enough food to respond and recover from any emergency.
