    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Hot tub was full of water and left unlocked. The Manager locked the hot tub and said the hot tub is not in use and no longer works.

    Corrective action. Ensure the hot tub is secured at all times.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. Last week, some panels of the fence in the back yard had fallen down. Currently the panel is being held up by a rope.

    Corrective action. Licensee has been working on getting the fence fixed. Please provide a timeline for when you think the fence will be fixed.

    A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

    Observation. Limited information available in regard to monthly fire drills and emergency drill as they were written in multple books. Licensee stated that they had them written down but could not locate them at the time of inspection.

    Corrective action. LO to send Licensee a fire drill log. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before April 2, 2025

    A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as either Preschool (30 Months to School Age) or Group Child Care (School Age), must have in a community care facility a sturdy surface for changing diapers, located outside the food preparation area, next to (a) a covered container for soiled clothing.

    Observation. A garbage can with a lid was not available within the washroom.

    Corrective action. Ensure that a covered container for soiled clothing, i.e. pull ups and diapers is available within the diapering area ( washroom).
