The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation. The care plans for 2 children were not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.

Corrective action. Corrective action plan required

A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.

Observation. A care plan was not developed for a child who requires emergency medication

Corrective action. Develop a care plan and review yearly

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.

Observation. Four staff files were reviewed and it was found all files had references indicated but none were verified.

Corrective action. Ensure all references are verified and recorded in the staff files

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Observation. Four staff files were reviewed and three of four files did not have evidence of immunization status

Corrective action. Ensure there is a system in place during hiring to collect evidence of immunization status in each staff file

Observation. During review of facility client files, licensing found that 2 files were missing photos.

Corrective action. Ensure a photo or digital image of the child is available to identify the child in an emergency
