Observation. -The screen use policy was not observed

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. -Attendance records contained a signature for all children rather than a time of departure. -Attendance was not completed from the previous day. This was corrected during the inspection.

Observation. Criminal Record Check is not current (expired) for one employee.
Corrective action. Please ensure criminal record check is completed prior to expiry date. Staff do not work alone. In discussion Manager said this will be completed this morning.

Observation. A child left the facility without staff’s awareness and was missing for approximately 15 minutes.
Corrective action. A corrective action plan has been submitted. No further action is required.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. Licensing observed that the record of fire drills for January to June 2024 was not present. In addition the record for the annual evacuation drill was not present.
Corrective action. In discussion the Manager and staff both confirmed that these drills were completed and were recorded. The Manager was unable to produce the records at the time of inspection.

Observation. Policies and Procedures were reviewed. An emergency evacuation policy was not present at the facility.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Although there was one fire extinguisher located in the kitchen with the full service date written, Licensing observed that there were three fire extinguishers in the premises that require service and the tag should also be updated. During the inpection, the manager called the fire extinguisher service company and they confirmed that it can still be safely used, though it does need to be serviced.
Corrective action. Ensure that the fire extinguishers are serviced with the tag updated.
