    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. -A backpack with emergency medication and another medication were observed in a backpack. This is a repeat contravention from inspection #CLAN-D97PTU. -A plastic bag was hanging on the fence in the outdoor play area. This was located at the children's level. This is a repeat contravention from inspection #CLAN-D97PTU. -Three shelves that were over 4 feet tall were not secured. Please correct by December 18, 2025 -A playground structure was next to a brick wall. Six foot fall distance must be observed around any climbing structure or slide -Furniture abutted the playground fence, this could present a potential climbing hazard -Duct tape was used to secure a protective cover -Staff bags were located at the children's level. Items in bags may present a potential hazard -Boxes of gloves were located in two outdoor play areas. This could present a potential hazard -Plastic panelling on children's cribs require cleaning

    Corrective action. In discussion with the Manager she explained she correct the items as soon as possible

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. -A bottle of prescription medication was on a low shelf accessible to the children -Loose cords were observed on the floor of the naproom -An uncovered electrical outlet -A door to the kitchen was open. Chemicals were observed in an unlocked cabinet under the kitchen sink -A door to the accessible washroom was open. A large bottle of handsanitizer was located on the washroom floor

    Corrective action. Manager explained she will fix this immediately

    Observation. During the inspection the following was observed: -Uncovered garbage cans in the infant and toddler area -A plastic bag in the infant outdoor play area used to hold used tissues may present a hazard. -Bottles of sunblock placed within children's reach. This was corrected during the inspection. -A backpack with emergency medication was located within reach of the children. This was corrected during the inspection. -Diaper cream was located next to the change table. This may present a potential hazard -A bottle of bleach and water was placed close to the edge of the counter. This was corrected during the inspection.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed ice salt and ice melter substances stored under the sink on the floor in open containers in the staff bathroom. During inspection, the door was open and the substances were easily accessible to children. The manager then closed the door as soon as this item was identified by Licensing.

    Corrective action. Ensure children do not have access to any objects or substances that may be hazardous to their health or safety.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. In the outdoor play area, Licensing observed that one of the wooden sandbox cover is cracked and needs to be repaired. The manager said during inspection that this will soon be replaced.

    Corrective action. Ensure that equipment and fixtures are in good repair while children are in care.
