- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. The following was observed during the inspection: -A hair product and a drawer that contained personal products was accessible -Rustoleum and another chemical was on a low table in the outdoor play area. These were removed during the inspection. -Several cans were observed in the recycling bin. This was located at the children's level. These contained sharp openings -Rust was observed on some of the fencing. This could present a potential hazard -A loose cord was observed by the wall. This could present a potential hazard.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. Licensing measured the water temperature. The temperature was 51.2 Degrees Celsius.
Corrective action. In discussion the Staff stated she will turn down the water heater. Licensing recommends active supervision is provided in this area until this is completed.
11230 - CCLR s.47 - STAFFING
The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation. A criminal record check for two persons over the age of 12 who are ordinarily present are not available. this is a repeat contravention.
Corrective action. Licensing observed the proof of payment for the criminal record checks but criminal record check clearance letters were not available for review. Licensee or staff will follow up with the criminal record review board.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. The children's records were reviewed. One child's record was missing their MSP number and immunization status.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (b) for each employee, the records required under section 19 (1) [character and skill requirements].
Observation. The Criminal Record Check is expired for the Licensee. The Licensee regularly works with a staff member.

Observation. Licensing observed that the name of the manager was not displayed in a prominent place in the facility.
Corrective action. Ensure that the name of the manager is displayed in a prominent place in the facility. The manager stated during the inspection that the name of the manager will be displayed near the licence.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): For one child, Licensing observed that although the name of the child's medical practitioner was listed on file, the phone number of the medical practitioner was missing.
Corrective action. Ensure to include the phone number of the medical practitioner on file.

Observation. During inspection, Licensing reviewed children's records and noted that one child was missing their Medical Service Plan number.
Corrective action. Ensure the Medical Service Plan number is on file for the child.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (f) a log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.
Observation. During inspection, it was noted that the incident log book has not been used.
Corrective action. Regularly record minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that do not require medical attention in the incident log book.
