    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. During the inspection Licensing observed the following: -In the outdoor play area a piece of wood was propped against the house.This could present a potential falling hazard -The garbage in the washroom (corrected during inspection) and the cubby area was accessible to children - An electrical outlet was missing a plug cover (corrected during inspection) -Rust was observed on the screen door of the facility. This could present a potential hazard -A child has allergies to two food items. This should be posted in the facility

    A licensee must ensure that the entire outdoor play area is (a) enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and will ensure that children are free of harm.

    Observation. Licensing observed that an area of the outdoor play area was not enclosed and may present a potential escape hazard. This is a concern as beyond the outdoor play area is a drop off. Please provide active supervision in this area until it is corrected

This could present a potential hazard -Personal products were located on a shelf accessible to children -Diaper cream was located at the children's level. This could present a poisoning hazard. This was corrected during the inspection -A sharp wire was sticking out of the wall near the entrance. This could cause a potential puncture hazard. This was removed -Plastic gloves were observed in the cubby area. This was corrected

    A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment]. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that the annual emergency drills were not recorded.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the annual emergency drills are recorded and on file. This item was identified and contravened on Nov. 27, 2019 on routine inspection report #KSEY-BJBPXK. During inspection, the facility recorded and placed on file the emergency drills that were previously completed.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During inspection, licensing observed that one child was not signed in on the attendance sheet.

    Corrective action. Ensure that children are signed in on the attendance sheet upon their arrival.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the child's emergency contacts are included on file.

(Educator or assistant certificate validation) Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During inspection, Licensing noted that two staff did not have on file their certificate validation.

    Corrective action. Ensure that staff certificates are validated, and the validation record should be included on file.
