    A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the inspection Licensing observed several large cardboard boxes partially blocking the stairwell. The stairwell leads to the emergency exit.

    Corrective action. Please ensure the stairwell is not blocked or partially blocked to ensure a safe exit in an emergency.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following during the inspection: -A spray bottle with bleach and water and two packages of chemical wipes were observed in a cupboard under the sink -Medication was placed in the first aid kit and located on a low shelf at the children's level. This could present a potential hazard. this was corrected during the inspection. -Diaper cream was observed at the children's level in bins in the washroom. This could present a potential hazard. -Staff bags were accessible to children. This could present a potential hazard

  • A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. The facility is using portable heaters in the 0-36 months old rooms daily. The heater in one of the rooms was observed to be on and was hot to the touch, and a long loose cord was observed on the floor.

    Corrective action. Licensing has requested a corrective action plan as to how the Licensee will address the heating issues. The Licensee has submitted documentation for Licensing to review
