LO reviewed with the licensee the concerns and the need to address the issue in order to ensure a safe environment. As a temporary solution,the licensee will ensure active supervision around the planter boxes until issue is addressed.

  Observation. Licensing observed: -Planter boxes located on the playground were accessible to children but did not contain plants. Children had previously been observed climbing on these boxes, which presents a high risk of injury due to the surrounding concrete surface. Children should only climb on designated climbing equipment.

Licensing observed: -One sleeping mat was damaged and could not be properly cleaned or sanitized due to exposed porous material. -The changing mat was in poor condition and could not be properly cleaned or sanitized due to exposed porous material. -Carpets were not clean. -The floor underneath the carpets had not been cleaned; debris was noted note :photos taken during the inspection

  Observation. LO noted that no fire drills were recorded for the month of February and March,2026. A record for earthquake drills was noted for February and March 2026.

The licensee stated that was away and it appears that did staff did not complete and recorded a monthly fire drill as records were not available for February and Marcy 2026.This is reoccurring concern noted on a previous routine inspection in 2024.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed staffing documentation and observed 2 staff files were incomplete. References, immunization status and 1 criminal record check for a breaker staff. Conversation occurred with the manager regarding breaker staff can not be left alone with the children until a clear criminal record check is provided.

Licensing also observed a mop being stored in the covered bathtub next to and touching the diaper change mat. The mop was removed during the inspection.

  Observation. Licensing has provided the required form that must accompany the medication. A conversation occurred to have the parent(s) fill out and sign the document(s). To be reminded that the form(s) to be stored with the medication and that they go wherever the child is. For example, if the child goes on a walk, the medication and the plan must be brought on the walk.

  Observation. LO noted the following: - the soap/water and bleach spray bottles were in place for the kitchen surfaces. The soap/ water and bleach spray bottles were missing in the bathroom (to clean the diaper change mat prior to disinfecting). Please label all spray bottles accordingly. - cleaning items were stored in bathroom`s bathtub and they were accessible to children - the changing mat had visible damage

  Observation. LO observed that the children`s beddings were not individually stored. Additionally, sleeping mats were stored on top of each other, with bedding on. Staff also shared that sleeping mats were not cleaned and disinfected after each use.

  Observation. LO noted insufficient outdoor activities\toys were provided to children. LO observed staff and children played in the park where bubbles were provided as the only choice of activity. Staff shared that they did not use the outdoor play area at the facility, for the day, because of the pressure washing /cleaning on the neighbouring premises.
