• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that several cardboard boxes were propping the back door open and blocking the emergency exit. This could cause a potential hazard if the facility was required to evacuate in an emergency.

• HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

  A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

  Observation. During the inspection Licensing observed a staff member wearing a set of gloves during the washroom routine. After changing a child's diaper, the staff member left their gloves on while assisting other children. The staff member did not wash their hands. In addition, another staff member was observed assisting a child with toileting then removed their gloves but did not wash their hands when leaving the washroom.

  Corrective action. Please ensure staff members change gloves and wash hands each time after changing diapers or assisting children with toileting.

• LICENSING

  A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.

  Observation. The name of the Manager was not posted in a prominent place.
