- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. A chef's knife and a utility knife were observed in the kitchen drawer of Room 19 that are accessible to the children. Manager explained that the kitchen area is also being used by the school staff.
Corrective action. Manager said that she will ensure that the staff remove all sharp objects from the kitchen drawer. Manager said that she will also make a request to the school to ensure that their staff keep all knifes in the overhead cupboard so they stay out of reach from children.

Observation. Evidence of a valid criminal record check was not available for one staff member.
Corrective action. The manager will ensure that a valid criminal record check is available for all staff.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. On inspection the Licensing Officer observed rust on the baseboards underneath the paper towel dispenser in the bathroom. The base of the toilet and baseboards had visible dirt and were in need of cleaning.
Corrective action. Please ensure the baseboards and area around the toilet are kept clean.

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The name of the manager was not posted.
Corrective action. This was corrected during the inspection.
10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (c) produce records, on demand, to the medical health officer.
Observation. During this inspection the manager was no able to locate staff files and facility policies and procedures.
Corrective action. Please ensure that all records are available for inspection.
